Michael Jordan announces rosters for 2005 Jordan Classic
- Event to be held at Madison Square Garden on April 16th -


NEW YORK (February 9, 2005) - Jordan, a division of Nike, Inc., announced today in a press conference featuring Michael Jordan at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, that the nationâs most prestigious high school basketball event, the Jordan Classic, will be held at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, April 16th. Jordan unveiled the National Game roster, which will feature the countryâs top high school seniors and be televised nationally on ESPN2 (complete player rosters are included on the following page). The Jordan Classic will also include a regional game, showcasing the top prep players from the New York City metropolitan area. 

The event was previously held in Washington, DC for 31 years, including the past three years with Jordan as the title sponsor. During that time, the participants included current NBA stars LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudamire and Dwight Howard and current NCAA standouts Chris Paul (Wake Forest), Rashad McCants (North Carolina), Sean May (North Carolina), John Gilchrist (Maryland), Dee Brown (Illinois), J.J. Redick (Duke) and J.R. Giddens (Kansas).
