Since
the AFLAC All-American High
School Baseball Classic’s
inception in 2003, the game has
placed one out of every
four players in the first
round draft (and supplemental first
round draft). This year’s
mark of 13 player selected (from
the 38 possible), means that more
than 33% of the players selected
in 2006 became first round draft
choices. It’s not hard
to see why MLB and its Player’s
Association consider the AFLAC
All-American High School Baseball
Classic as the marquee event
of baseball all star games.
Each
year, the AFLAC All-American
High School Baseball Classic
features the nation’s top
high school players. AFLAC All-Americans
are chosen by Perfect Game USA,
the game’s official selection
partner and the world’s largest
prep baseball scouting service.
The
5th annual AFLAC All-American High
School Baseball Classic
will be played on Saturday,
August 11, at San Diego
State’s Tony Gwynn Stadium.
Baseball Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith
will serve as Honorary Chairman
for this year’s game, which
will be televised live on Fox Sports
Net (FSN) at 3 p.m. ET.
At
Sports America, Inc., we’re
proud of our association with the
AFLAC All-American High School
Baseball Classic, and Perfect
Game, USA.
