Game – The Baseball World’s Recruiting Ace
Perfect Game (PG) is the world’s
largest baseball scouting report service. It’s
devoted to furthering the career development of the
country’s most talented high school baseball players
– in large part through its own high-level team
tournaments and individual player showcases.
Included in these are the two events generally considered
to be the top team and individual scouting attractions
in baseball:
-
The World Wood Bat Championship (WWBC),
held each October in Jupiter, Florida provides the
backdrop for the countries finest prep baseball teams
to vie against each other.
- The
AFLAC High School All American Baseball Classic provides
the stage for the country’s finest individual
baseball players to display their talents.
Since
the AFLAC Classic’s inception
in 2003, Sports America has relied
upon PG – and only PG –
to identify the nation’s best players to invite.
That’s because PG has blown away its
peers in identifying and developing professional-caliber
players from prep athletes in the U.S., Canada, Mexico
and Central and South America.
Specifically, each year since 2002, PG has
established a new record for players drafted. That year,
it saw 364 PG-trained players drafted into
MLB . In 2003, that number grew to 409... in 2004, it
hit 533… and then 823 in 2005. Last year, PG
shattered it's own record with an astounding 952 participants
drafted – accounting for more than 63% of the
entire draft.
Since 2002, PG has seen 3,081 players drafted
with 140 first-round picks having attended PG
events (including 38 picks this year from the 1st and
supplemental 1st rounds). It has been estimated that
by year 2008 over half of all the players on Major League
rosters will have attended Perfect Game events.
PG was created by Jerry Ford more than 15 years
ago in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Jerry’s been involved
with baseball his entire life, having scouted for the
Minnesota Twins and managed at the collegiate level.
He founded Perfect Game some 15 years ago.
The rest of the PG staff is scattered all across
the U.S. and comprised almost entirely of former professional
baseball people. For more information on Perfect
